Events

The Friends of ANCHOR fundraising team organises numerous events throughout the year, raising vital funds for North-east cancer care.

This year with the coronavirus pandemic, we are among the many charities facing a year with far fewer fundraising events, as many have been postponed or cancelled.

We will endeavour to keep all our 'Events' pages up to date to keep you informed of our plans.

In the meantime, scroll on to read more about the events we would usually host, which include our professionally-choreographed catwalk shows, an annual golf tournament and black tie dinner, inflatable obstacle course and a biennial masked ball.

In addition, Friends of ANCHOR is affiliated with a number of well-established events such as BHGE 10k, Great Aberdeen Run, Glack Attack and Intellicore Red Run, which are open to all.

Find your stride

Throughout the year there are many opportunities for keen runners and beginners alike, to don a red T-shirt and pound the pavements. Soak up the atmosphere as you run in red through the city centre for the Baker Hughes Aberdeen Running Festival or clock up some miles in the countryside as you tackle the Intellicore Red Run. Fancy something a little different? Why not check out Glack Attack – a mud run jam packed with obstacles.

Annual events

Friends of ANCHOR is proud to present a varied calendar of events for every season.

Each year the charity hosts two skydives in St Andrews, and June sees us organise our annual Gala Golf Event – a stableford tournament followed by a gala evening at The Chester Hotel. Every second year, Duthie Park becomes the setting for our spectacularly themed Masked Ball.
