Making Memories

Our Making Memories fund is for patients receiving end-of-life care or who have less than a year to live.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available, and past experiences have included trips to the football or theatre, weddings, special family celebrations or short getaways.

Enquiries can be made by a family member, including ideas or suggestions of what they'd like planned, but the application must be completed by a member of the patient's clinical team.

A panel made up of Friends of ANCHOR committee members will make the final decision, usually within 72 hours of receiving the application.

If approved, the wellbeing team will work with the patient to pull together the experience.

Application info

  • Applications are open to cancer and haematology patients, residing in the north of Scotland.
  • The fund is available for patients who are receiving end-of-life care or who have a life-limiting prognosis of 12 months or less.
  • Applications are for patients aged 16 or above.
